Houston County Satellite Classes
Renaissance Center's Dance Department offers satellite classes in conjunction with Houston County Community Theatre and the Houston County Arts Council. Classes meet at Houston County High School in Erin.
Musical Theatre Song & Dance with Bryan J. Wlas and Nathan W. Brown (ages 11 and up) Learn and perform musical numbers with the Resident Choreographer and Resident Musical Director for the Renaissance Repertory Theatre Company. Students will learn numbers from shows such as Annie Get Your Gun, Gypsy and Curtains. Stu¬ dents will be exposed to various styles of singing and dancing, and rotate to a new show every few weeks. Beginning Tap with Bryan). Wlas (ages 12 and up) A great introduction to tap dancing for beginners of all ages. Students will be introduced to the basic tap steps, and use them in exercises and routines. Class will focus on technique, quality of sounds and performance. Student limit 12. DAN2400 Thu 6:15-7 pm $120
Beginning Ballet with Bryan J. Wlas (ages 11 and up) A great introduction to ballet dancing for beginners of any age. Students will be introduced to the basic ballet technique and steps. Ballet is wonderful for developing posture and technique that can be used in other forms of dance. Class will begin with a barre warm-up, progress to floor exercises, and then into learning routines.
