Arts in the Community

HCAC presents several art events throughout the year.  Annually HCAC brings Celtic Music during Irish Week and Sweet Tea & Southern Art in August. HCAC also partners with many other events such as the Creative Hands Contest sponsored by the Friends of the Houston County Library.  HCAC is always looking for ways to bring the arts to Houston County.

HCAC presents: Carnival of the Animals February 6, 2020

Picture
Houston County Arts Council presented a night with the Nashville Ballet on Feb. 6th.
Carnival of the Animals  - This engaging children's ballet explored the value of diversity through the perspective of the mighty lion. The "King of the Jungle" cannot understand why everyone isn’t exactly like him, but a wise and patient bird introduces the lion to a host of creatures to teach him that we are all unique, and it’s exactly those differences that make life interesting.
