THE HOUSTON COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL IS ACTIVELY SEEKING SOMEONE TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR MUSICAL EXPRESSION FOR THE CHILDREN OF HOUSTON COUNTY BEGINNING IN THE FALL OF 2018. THIS WOULD BE A POSITION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE HCAC OFFERING ENCOURAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT. Youth Chorus Goals:
about 45 young people participating this semester.
Spring concert will be Sunday, May 6, 3:00 PM, HCHS Forum,
Rehearsals 4:30-5:30 every Monday at HCMS Bandroom
- Develop singing voices and use of proper vocal technique
- Become skillful in singing melody and harmony parts
- Become aware of musical signs, symbols and characteristics
- Learn to feel beats, their grouping, and musical organization
- Synchronize body movements to a variety of rhythms
- Increase or awareness of different musical styles and cultures
- Experiment with various percussive instruments
